What is the minimum order quantity for a custom PVC coaster like this?

For a brand-new custom design requiring a new mold, the MOQ is 300 pieces per design. If you want to use our existing coaster shape (round, ~100 mm) but change the colors and text, the MOQ is 500 pieces per color variant. For a simple text-only change using an existing design layout, the MOQ is 200 pieces. You can also mix both designs ("心想事成" and "身体健康") in the same order — each must meet its individual MOQ.

Can I get a sample before placing a bulk order?

Yes. We strongly recommend samples before mass production. For a new custom design, sample cost covers mold creation + sample production (typically $80 – $150 depending on design complexity). This amount is fully deductible from your bulk order deposit. For a color change on an existing mold, no new mold fee — sample cost is approximately $30 – $50.

How long does a sample take?

From artwork approval, mold making takes 5 – 7 working days. Sample production takes 2 – 3 days. Express shipping (DHL/FedEx) takes 3 – 7 working days. Total time from artwork approval to sample in hand: approximately 10 – 14 working days.

Is this coaster safe for hot drinks?

Yes. The PVC material can handle hot beverage temperatures up to +60°C (140°F) without deformation. This covers coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. For extremely hot cookware (pots directly from the stove), we do not recommend this coaster — that's what trivets are for.

Will the raised cloud pattern flatten or wear down over time?

No. The cloud relief pattern is embossed — it is physically part of the molded PVC, not a printed or glued application. Under normal use (wiping, stacking, setting glasses on top), the relief height remains stable. With dozens of PVC product lines in daily use across restaurants, we have not seen pattern flattening for years of regular use.

How do I clean these coasters? Can they go in the dishwasher?

We recommend hand washing with warm water and mild dish soap, then air drying. While the PVC material is water-resistant, the dishwasher's high heat (65°C+ / 150°F+) and strong detergents can accelerate surface dulling. For best longevity, hand wash only — it takes literally 5 seconds per coaster.

Can I have a custom design that is not round?

Absolutely. While the standard coaster shape is round (100 mm diameter), we can produce custom shapes as well — square, hexagonal, oval, leaf-shaped, or any custom silhouette matching your brand logo or holiday theme. Custom shapes require a new mold, with the same MOQ of 300 pieces per design.

What file formats do you need for custom artwork?

We prefer vector files: AI, EPS, CDR, or PDF with all text converted to outlines. High-resolution PSD (300 dpi minimum) is acceptable but vector is strongly preferred for crisp embossed edges. Please include a Pantone color reference for each color zone in your design.

Do you offer eco-friendly or biodegradable PVC coaster options?

We are actively developing a bio-based PVC alternative using renewable plasticizers derived from plant oils. Current feasibility: available for orders of 5,000+ pieces, with approximately 15 – 20% cost premium over standard PVC. We also offer recycled PVC material (post-industrial scrap) at ~5 – 10% cost reduction. Please inquire for specific certification requirements.

Can I get a branded display stand or holder along with the coasters?

Yes. We can produce acrylic display stands, wooden coaster holders, or countertop dispensers to complement your coaster order. Display stands typically have a separate MOQ of 100 – 200 pieces and add 5 – 7 working days to the lead time. We can also source corks or leather holders from partner suppliers.
